This piece explores the human desire to be remembered. Knowing we cannot live forever, we seek to do something that will outlast us. In this drawing I explore the relationship between the ambition to build a great monument to last centuries and the impulsive act of carving your name into wood, both of which seem to be activity on the desire to leave your mark on the world.
